Rapture Records ("we", "us", "our") operates the rapture-records.com website. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our service.
1. Data We Collect
When you submit a track through our pitch form, we collect:
- Artist name — to identify you and your submission
- Email address — to send you the decision on your submission (accept or decline) and your payment receipt
- Track title and link — the Spotify, SoundCloud, or private link you submit for review
- Note about the track — the optional description you provide
- Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your card details
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively for:
- Reviewing your submission — a human curator (Ben Ferrier) listens to your track in full
- Communicating the decision — we email you whether your track was accepted or declined, with feedback
- Payment processing — Stripe handles the €3 submission fee. Your receipt is sent to the email you provide
- Playlist management — if accepted, your track is added to the relevant Spotify playlist
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.
3. Data Storage
Your submission data (artist name, email, track details, and the curator's decision) is stored on our secure server located in the European Union (Hetzner, Germany). Data is retained for as long as necessary to provide our service and for our records.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data. stripe.com/privacy
- Spotify — for embedded track players and playlist management. spotify.com/privacy
- Google Fonts — for loading typefaces (Cormorant Garamond, Barlow Condensed). No personal data is collected
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymised traffic analytics (only when you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner). IPs are anonymised; we use the data only to understand which pages help artists. policies.google.com/privacy
- Google AdSense — only on tool pages (royalty calculator, pitch generator, AI checker, etc.). Ads support free tools and never appear on the submission, playlists, or labels pages. Loaded only with your consent. policies.google.com/technologies/ads
5. Cookies
We use cookies for two purposes only, both opt-in via the consent banner shown on your first visit:
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to count unique visitors and the pages they visit (with anonymised IPs). Off by default; only loaded if you click "Accept all".
- Advertising — Google AdSense may set cookies on tool pages to serve relevant ads. Off by default; only loaded if you click "Accept all" AND the page is a tool/SEO page.
If you click "Essential only", neither service loads. The Spotify embedded player and Stripe checkout may set their own cookies as part of their services.
Your consent choice is stored locally in your browser (key rapture_consent_v1). Clear your browser storage to be asked again.
6. Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to certain types of processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
7. Children
Our service is not directed to anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
